As for our last edition, we have aimed to make this edition as local as local, by firstly maturing our classic Dry Gin in new oak barrels from Luxembourg, originating from the forests of Berdorf. These medium toasted casks are adding an additional layer of complexity to the spirit and enhancing flavours of fresh spices, earthy notes and a light smokiness.
The gin is then transferred to a reconditioned French oak Pinot Noir barrique from the cellars of Domaine Henri Ruppert, in order to capture and balance the essential particularities of the Pinot Noir cask, marked by smoky spices, aromatic clove scent and a dark amber appearance.
Warm and powerful notes of dark, red berries together with freshly crushed black pepper and hints of citrus, which are completed by a light smokiness.
Mirroring the nose with spicy and peppery flavours at first, followed by a warm toffee-like structure with notes of raisins filling the palate, while leaving a silky texture
A slight earthiness intermixed with floral honey flavours and leaving a long-lasting smooth butterscotch finish.
Our Pinot Noir Cask Aged Gin is not made to be mixed with tonic. You should rather enjoy it straight, at room temperature, or on the rocks with an orange zest. Alternatively, try it out in a Spiced Gin & Juice or Negroni. Cheers!
